Stephanie Heijdra is a family barrister specialising in complex financial & children related disputes arising on relationship breakdown and divorce at Clerksroom and Clerksroom Direct that are part of the Barrister Group

She has a common law practice. Her thriving family law practice includes private children, domestic abuse, domestic violence, domestic disputes, occupation orders, non-molestation orders, family finance, and matrimonial finance and divorce cases, often involving vulnerable clients.


Her children practice includes the whole spectrum of legal cases pertaining to private children matters. At present, this spans from helping parents reach arrangements for their children after separation, international contact, international relocation of children, international child abduction (Hague and non-Hague), wardship, the inherent jurisdiction, recognition and enforcement of foreign orders, domestic abuse cases, cases involving very serious allegations, Fact-Finding Hearings, care proceedings and more.


Stephanie accepts instructions at all stages of finance proceedings. Stephanie often undertakes both the matrimonial finance and private children law proceedings for clients. This enables continuity and wrap-around support at a highly stressful time, as well as a thorough and nuanced understanding of her clients’ circumstances, which informs her practical and creative advice.

Stephanie has experience in cases involving hard and soft loans v gifts, complex pension entitlement, businesses, and cases involving an international element, including those where there are concurrent finance proceedings in other jurisdictions.


In her immigration law practice, she represents a variety of clients facing serious matters which includes matters involving young and vulnerable clients.


She studied Law at the University of Liverpool (part of the exclusive Russell Group) and was awarded her LLB (Hons), enabling her to start her bar professional training course (BPTC) whilst simultaneously studying for an LLM in Human Rights Law at Manchester Metropolitan University. She also has an LLM in Legal Practice.


She went on to study for a Degree in Business Management at BPP University London in aid of her thriving immigration practice Winvolved Consultancy Ltd. She is a level 3 OISC Immigration Caseworker and a Level 2 Law Society Immigration and Asylum Caseworker.


Stephanie attended the world's top-rated, 5-day, SEC International Advanced Advocacy Course at Keble College, Oxford University in the summer of 2023.


She has a mixed common law practice, accepting instructions across a range of civil (including landlord and tenant), immigration and family matters including children matters and matrimonial finance or divorce.
